In the academic year 2021, about 1.4 percent of total pupils and students were absent from primary and lower secondary schools for more than 90 days because they refused to attend. In total, around four percent of students did not attend schools for more than 30 days due to sickness, attendance refusal, and other obstacles such as family reasons.
